Enrollment is open to all clarinet and bass clarinet players entering grades 7th, 8th and 9th. Perform in a clarinet choir, learn how to adjust your reeds, benefit from sessions on topics that will make you a better clarinetist and enjoy a masterclass with a renowned guest artist! Cost includes lunch each day and a camp t-shirt.

University of Texas Longhorn Band Camp June 8-14

The middle school band camp is designed to accommodate musicians ranging from the most talented and proficient to the less experienced, with a minimum of one year of training on their chosen instrument. It is open to entering grades 7th, 8th or 9th. Outstanding band directors from around the state conduct the five concert bands. This session provides an excellent opportunity for young musicians to improve their individual performance skills. Instruction includes rehearsals, sectionals, masterclasses, supervised practice and optional private lessons.

University of Texas at Arlington Band Camp June 15-19
$395, which includes all meals and housing

A fun and enriching curriculum of full band rehearsals, instrumental lessons, master classes, sectionals and electives will be taught by outstanding high school and junior high band directors from across the state. Students will participate in one of the five bands based on an audition and perform a final concert. The camp is open to students entering grades 7-12.

The Baylor University School of Music's Middle School Band Camp is one week of intense, yet fun-filled training in performance. Enrollment is open to students entering grades 7th, 8th and 9th. Camp students are under the artistic supervision and guidance of the faculty of the Baylor School of Music. In addition, outstanding music teachers, conductors and performers from throughout the state of Texas will join the staff to ensure that students receive the highest quality instruction. The camp will conclude Saturday morning withe the Grand Concert featuring musical performances by each of the camp ensembles.

Floot Fire is a weeklong flute workshop dedicated to educating and inspiring young flutists. Floot Fire combines an informal, comfortable, and supportive atmosphere with teaching, performance, and artistic standards of the highest caliber. Our flexible daily schedule includes: performance class, electives, chamber music, flute choir, recitals, and of course practice! Our flootful days cover flootastic topics such as posture, breathing, tone, articulation, intonation, vibrato, technique, stage presence, practice habits, relaxation techniques, performance tips, working with an accompanist, and much more!

North Texas Middle School Percussion Camp June 17-19

This camp features some of the finest percussion educators in the country. Participants will benefit from drum set masterclasses, percussion ensembles, ethnic percussion workshops, orchestral techniques and drum line clinics. Enrollment is open to students entering the 7th or 8th grade, and is limited to the first 100 participants.

Guest artists for 2013 include the Maniacal 4 trombone quartet, tubist Patrick Sheridan, trumpeter Kevin Finamore of the Dallas Symphonic, hornist Brian Brown of the Dallas Opera Orchestra and the Blast of Brass ensemble. Daily classes include small, medium and large brass ensembles, individual instrument choirs, masterclasses led by the featured guest artists, recitals, eurhythmics, orchestral excerpt class and an introduction to jazz improvisation.
